Default Help with turbo related exhaust leak

I got to VIR this weekend and noticed that the top of the intake manifold was black from exhaust. It's coming up from the driver side by the oil dipstick (dipstick handle coated with it also). The car made it through the weekend fine and I did not notice a loss in power. Turbo is strong. What should I look for? The previous owner wrapped the pipes around the turbo. Do I need to remove the intake manifold to look around? I saw the 2 piece cross over group buy. Would the 2 piece cross over cover all the pipes to the turbo that could leak?

Thanks,
Mark

Trace down the cause of the leak before you buy any parts.

Start the car a listen under the hood

Maybe check and see if the O2 sensor is tight
