Default bolts that mount turbo

does anyone know the size of the 2 bolts that mount the turbo to the mount. One is longer than the other i know but whats the size, as in the width and such. Length would really help too for both of them if anyone knows.,

thanks

I don't know off hand, but if your looking to buy some www.lindseyracing.com has them listed on their website. Look under the turbo stuff.

I think the problem with longer ones is that you will have a hard time getting them in the hole, i think there are some space restrictions if i remember right. Every time i have removed the turbo, the long one drops down and backs against a mount, kinda holding it in place.

They are:

M8 x 1.25 x 35mm
M8 x 1.25 x 125mm

You may have a hard time finding these at a normal hardware store (especially the long one). The mounting holes are threaded all the way through on the k26, so yes you have maybe an extra 20mm to play with on the top side. You are probably best just waiting to get the right size bolts, but if you can't, you can also make a bolt with metric threaded rod (not easy to find on Sunday either), with a nut welded on the bottom -- or just use nuts on both top and bottom. (Or, you could try putting a very short bolt in the top side of the turbo mounting holes (a few threads deep), so that you can put a threaded rod in from the bottom and not worry about it turning when you torque a nut on from the underside. Depends how desparate you are to get it running today...)

For sure! The long one hits the cross member. You need to loosen the four cross-member mounting bolts and let the cross member sag enough to get the long bolt in (or out).

The small one you can find no prob at a hardware store, i just put in a stainless on in mine, longer one might be more difficult.

I am having the same problem also, the closest at the hardware is a standard 5/16 5" bolt, but you run some risk. The short one is available at Lowe's

I suppose you could get a suitable standard bolt, and run it through an M8 1.25 die. Or try:

http://www.boltdepot.com/product.asp...&cm=23&cd=1324

item 6577

Dealers sell them too, at a porsche-size mark-up
