Default What is this part under the intake?

Hi!

My question will sound dumb and unclear, but ho well.. I give it a try.

When doing a valve job on my 951, my mechanic broke something right under the intake. He doesn't know what it is either. It looks like a huge valve (it's brown with 3 or more vacuum hoses plugged into it). It's located right under the intake beetween the #1 and #2 cylinder (starting in order from the windshield).

What are the possible parts?

Thx

Thermovalve. Should have 2 nipples on it, with 2 small vacuum lines. Runs from the fuel purge valve system to the thermovalve and then to the throttle body. You can bypass it and go straight from the throttle body to the FPV system if you would like.

Edit:

I take that back, that is probably the cycling valve....didnt read original post close enough.

Cycling valve, it is part of the factory boost control setup that can be eliminated when you move to an aftermarket setup such as an MBC or EBC.

You have a manual boost controller IIRC?

Thanks for the input! After verification, it's the cycling valve.

No, I don't have a MBC. I didn't have the intention of raising the boost until a good while, so I'll go with the CHEAPEST way of replacing it. Is the factory unit THIS expensive? Where can I get the cheapest replacement unit (OEM / jobber cycling valve or MBC, I don't really care as long as it doesn't cost a arm and a leg hehehe).

Thanks

Eyal, i though that you already have the accuboost controller right? you should bypass the cycling valve (just remove it and hide the conneting wires).
