Oil! What brand and type works best!
Anyone has experience with what kind of motoroil works best for our cars.
If there is any differences in consumption, oilpressure/temprature and so on...

I like Motul, Redline. Castrol not bad but more noise
from the cam tower. I know I'll get flame from saying
this but stay away from Mobil 1. Viscousity degrades
very quickly at higher temperature.

Three Wheelin'
I use and am very happy with the Mobil 1 15W-50.
As for oil pressures...Porsche doesn't recommend in the owners manual (if I remember that's where I read it) not to boost until the oil pressure drops at idle to about 3 bar from the 5 when you first start the car. The car can SAFELY go down to 1 bar under really hot conditions and really hard driving, but the lowest I've ever seen it was 2.5 bar. If you boost before the oil warms up, the oil may not properly be flowing through all of the tiny oil passages and may not be properly lubricating your turbo under high boost/high temp conditions and it can wear out faster. You are still good so long as when your rpms start coming up (2k and up) that the oil pressure goes back up to 4.5-5bar.

Amsoil or Redline..if changing only filter at every 3 k miles and oil at 9 to 12K miles..if changint every 3 to 6k then go with Mobil 1..and yes Mobil 1 breaks down fater than amsoil and redline..I speak thru experience but that doesn't make it a inferior oil...on the contrary it's one of the best in lubricating and being able to impregnate in the cylinder walls....I run all 3....at different times and they are a bit different.

Amsoil Series 2000 Racing 20w-50 for me, and thier HP 10w-40 in the NA. Have not used the Redline motor oil but I have been very pleased with their MT-90 gear lube. I used to use Mobil 1 then I found Amsoil. As far as Kendall GT-1 goes I used to run it all the time in my built Chevy 355, but that was before I knew much about Synthetics. If it is any consolation I seen several cases of Kendall GT-1 20w-50 in the same paddock space as a Porsche 917K/30...the twin turbo flat-12! I assume it was being used in that.

I have been using Castrol RS 10-60 in all my cars for 4 years now, and I hav ebeen very happy with it. My Cup 951 likes it a lot, and will burn much less of it than the Mobil I used before. My M5 has stopped using oil with it as well. I figured if it suits my mechanic's 935, it should be good enough for my cars.
