Lightbulb *Pics of my custom projector driving lights*

Well I made some improvements to the lighting on my yellow 951. The first thing I did is make a harness with 12ga wire and a relay for high beams, low beams, and driving lights. I then installed some very cheap lenses that I got from ebay. These lenses aren’t that bad, but they will be the first things I replace when I have the money. I installed 90/100W lamps in these lenses.

Now for the interesting part. I have been wanting the euro driving lights to replace the block off plate, but don’t have the money for them. I had a pair of A3 VW Jetta fog lights laying around, so I put them to use as the driving lights for my Porsche.

Basically I removed the lens and cut a hole in the block off plate. I then mounted the projectors to the back off the block off plate. There were a lot more little things that had to be done to make this work, but I can post those later if anyone is interested.

The VW projector fog lights produce a half circle beam with a very sharp flat edge, once the stock fog lens is removed. This beam works great to shine a lot of light on the road and not in other driver’s eyes. I installed 100W H3’s in these lights.

Well, let me know what you all think. I will post some pictures of the beam pattern once I get them aimed correctly.

Sorry the pics are so bad, and show all the rock chips and how dirty the car is at the moment.

Thanks guys. I’m very happy with them.

I was expecting a lot more response from people about the custom lights. I like them a lot, but would really like to know what others think.

Well, this board has a propensity to think anything outside of stock appearance, is rice. So they are probably jsut biting thier tounges as not to say anything dispariging about them.

I think they are cool!!

OK, I like them as an alternative to the euro-spec lenses, would really need to see them in person to see how much the "roundness" of the d/l's stand out.

Is there a way that they can be aimed/tuned, or are they static once installed?

What switch/location did you use inside the car to operate them? Does it look factory?
