Default PCV Oil Catch Can GROUP BUY!

Fellow rennlisters,
I am organizing a group buy for this catch can:

http://www.accmachtech.com/pcvcatchcans.htm

this is an oil catch can built by Accurate Machine Works and is a universal unit.
In a different thread, theedge posted why a catch can is nice to have in a post, I hope he doesn't mind me quoting him:

The crankcase is under pressure, so it needs a vent to prevent from popping all the gaskets when running hard. That vent is a hose that connects to the j boot, the problem is it lets oil through the hose into the intake and into the combustion chambers. Pull off one of your intercooler pipes and have a look, its nasty in there and turbo blowby makes it worse.

This can catches the oil before it gets to the intake. Advantage of which is less oil in the cumbustion chamber... Meaning more room for air and gas

Of course, these symptoms are experienced in all 944's, NA or turbo, so this is for all of us!

The price of this catch can is 88 dollars plus 8 dollars shipping to make a total of $96.00. Our Rennlist deal will be $88.00 shipped, instead of $96.00 shipped.
Of course, I have the approval of John D. and I have been in contact with Accurate Machine Works.

Do we need a certain number of people to get this to work?

there was no set number, but i think gauging from the interest in the other thread, we should be fine. It doesn't have to be a large number. I think 10 will be fine, but i expect more then that.

The only issue I have with this unit is the small size of the fittings. The hose that goes from the factory air/oil separator (on the turbo at least) is 5/8" ID, not 3/8" ID. Maybe we could have them custom machine larger fittings on there.

If this can be done, I am in. Otherwise, I am doing it custom locally.

I'll contact them about it. I think worst comes to worst, a 1.00 dollar peice that will have 3/8 connection on one side, and 5/8 on the other should fix this problem for us.

I replied on the regular forum, but the new info about 3/8" fittings is a concern since the factory size has been questioned as possibly being too small...if they are up for doing a larger fitting as macnewma mentioned, I'd be interested, but having a reducer at the end of a line that has already been questioned is worrisome...

And these are a good thing because.....? I don't buy his argument that oil in the combustion chamber is a problem, I've run too many two-stroke engines that prove otherwise.
