damn..so ...damn...I hope that won't happen to me...maybe yours weren't true forged?...I just wanna have over 400 rwhp ..is tha too much to ask for a dily driver....

I don't think my disaster was the fault of the rod itself, just one of those freak things that happens sometime

good to know...I would immagine the 2.8L woudl do it even easyer......gotta get a 2.8

It is my understanding that the 86 rods are forged and there were enough left over to put in the early 87's. After that, they were cast. Got that from the list a while back, but I don't remember from who. A quick search may yield better results and some sort of pedigree.

notice in my posts I sayed True forged...see Porsche allways ..well..allmost allways ahs build qulity heavy duty rods.....all 951 rods were supposedly foged...it's teh proccess that differs...the 86 were "true" forged but I don't think the other were just cast....they did this as a cost saving measure .

I use Pauter rods in the 2.8

It's not the power generated that breaks rods, it's the weigh of the pistons and RPM.
