Anyone recommend me a good dyno shop in Houston that would actually know a bit about by car?
Thanks

Without doubt Pro-Teknik. Be prepared to wait an eternity. They have a few race cars and a crap load of customers who have no problem spending 10K on a head, 951s usually are not that important to them. They are, however, one of the most knowledgable shops I know.

BTW - you are not located in Houston are you?

Or try CarBoy on Bissonnet. I have dyno'd my 951 there many times. They are not Porsche savvy, just master import tuners. Turbos are their specialty, not nameplates. No wait times, $120/hr for tuning.

I'll be using Pro Technik's dyno myself later this month.

Whereabouts in Houston are you?

I used Carboy also, from eclou's recommendation. Yeah, they weren't that knowledgable about the Porsche but once he figured out my Link handheld tuning module (took about 10min) we were on a roll. They know turbo's inside and out.

I shyed away from Pro-technik because of the high-price and wait. But they seemed like good people. The guy I talked to was very enthusiastic about dyno'ing my 951.

I don't think you'll be dissapointed if you go to either Carboy or Pro-technik, but I believe Carboy has cheaper rates...and Carboy has experience with 2 951's already haha.

I scheduled Pro-Technik's dyno for the 20th of this month. It really helps if you give them advanced notice. They don't have a lot of people. If you pop in wanting to get on the dyno, and they're in the middle of tuning a race car (which they usually are), you'll leave disappointed.

Saturdays are usually pretty busy for them, if they're even there. They spend a lot of weekends at tracks.

That said, they have more experience tuning 951's than anyone else around here. Not that there's any voodoo to it, but if you want someone working on the car that's really familiar with it, that's the place to go.
