Default Apex turbo for 944 turbo?

I recently came across this reel talking about Apex turbo technology. Instead of using a nut on the turbine they machine the center so the turbine pushes more air. I thought it could be a good innovation for the 944 T and I’m considering getting one.

what are your thoughts?

How in earth do you rebuild it? Are the wheels a sacrificial part to disassemble it?

Gains from not having a nut in the air stream sound like marketing hype to me. The wheel still has an axle and a hub around that axle, both taking up dimension and volume at the center of the flow path.

Aerodynamics is a weird science. Sometimes air flow behaves in counterintuitive manner.

In other words, yeah they could have something.

They seam to have great results in drag racing applications. It makes sense that it could produce better flow with the center of the turbine bringing in more air.

You should get one. You can tell people your turbo is nut-less.
