Weird Boosting Patterns.....
Ok, here's the problem,
When I turn on the engine (the engine is cold) and I try to get the boost going, it won't pass "0" on the Autometer gauge, but when I turn the car off, and turn it back on, then I can boost to 15psi EASY. This seems to happen every time after I turn on the car for the first time in a few hours...
What's causing this?

Re: Weird Boosting Patterns.....
Do you mean you are driving the car and trying to bring the boost up? OR are you idling? If idling, are you in neutral?
The reason I ask is because, as you may know so excuse me if I'm being redundant, if you are neutral with no load on the engine you won't see much for boost at all. As in the needle may bounce a little but not register boost. You can run the revs to the redline while in neutral and not see 2psi.
Also, if the above is not the case, is this a recent change? If so, what did you work on or change?
If you are driving the car and it is not registering boost, does it feel sluggish or does it feel as though it's boosting?
Finally, are you starting the car and the needle doesn't move to register vacuum?

It's in gear.
While accelerating, in gear and full throttle, the car's speed will increase, but the car will not boost. As soon as I turn off the engine, and turn it back on, the car is able to build boost.
It does feel somewhat sluggish (I'm gunning it without boost, it's kind of hard to explain the feeling in words)
But if there was a leak or anything, then why doesn't it leak after I restart the engine?? Maybe it's the computer's software? I'm running some nameless "superchips" that are capable of 15psi.

Cyrus, didn't you say your turbo to intercooler hose is shot? You will loose your boost if this is shot. I boosted at 6lbs with that hose cracked, on really warm days, around 4lbs.

Karl,
I'm hoping that is what's causing this. The only reason I started this thread is beacause I've never had this kind of problem where the car doesn't boost on the first startup, but gives me full boost after restarting the engine. I'm going to play with the hoses tomorrow, and see what could be causing this.
Thanks

Replace that hose first, then start looking elsewhere if that doesnt fix it. Either order the hose, or like it was mentioned, go buy a radiator hose with a similar size and bend from napa. I have bought numerous hoses like this, and just cut them to size.

Someone is sending me a boost controller, and it should be coming shortly. As soon as it comes, I'll install it and bypass that stupid cv. Regarding the hose, I sent Ian@944online an email, and I'm waiting on the reply..

I'm thinking that for so reason maybe the cycling valve is sticking to the full open to WG side. Probally something to do with the heat of the DME and a cold solder joint.

Sounds electronic. Use the LED test on the test-port to see if the KLR is spitting out any error codes... Procedure on my [u]RacerX website[u].
