HAHAHAHAHA!!! ahh classic. I just came back from the doctors (so a part of a firework made it's way into my eye, so sue me!) and pulled up next to a Cayenne Turbo and talked to him for a minute. I would love to drive one of them sometime just to see how good they really are... maybe one will find it's way into the shop sometime so I can! Who knows... ok, just wanted to share, back to the urination

There is a picture posted in the 996 or 993 forum of a Carrera GT in Jay Leno's parking spot. Supposedly he got number 2 in the county. Of course Mr. Seinfield got number 1.

Saw a yellow Enzo a few days ago. Didn't get to hear it very well since traffic was kind of busy. One thing I did notice, however, is that it is a big car...as in long.

Perhaps a little OT, but since Ferrari exhaust notes have been mentioned, I'm still wondering what's making these engines sound so sweet? After all, any engine by any manufacturer makes internal combustion noise, a straight pipe Ferrari engine does not sound pretty, it's all engineered in the exhaust pipes. Could it be the massive size of the mufflers? Anyone seen a Testarossa or 355 muffler, it's bigger than a decent size boot!

Interesting read in Evo I believe, back to back test of McLaren and CGT, Rowan Atkinson alias M. Bean thinks the CGT sounds linear compared to the F1..

Regards,
Chris

Why do ferrari's sound so good?

Well for one I know ferrari spends a lot of time tuning the intake and exhaust plumbing to be sure that each car has the correct ferrari sound.

But there are other factors as well.
Displacment
Cyl firing order
rev limit
crank layout
etc etc

If Im not mistaken, Ferrari has a patent on their engine note. As does Harley Davidson.

Wow, I saw the same Ferrari I think- yellow Enzo, but he was in Cary. I mentioned the same thing, as to how LONG the car was when I saw it.

All late model Ferrrari's (360,456,550,575 and Enzo) are as reliable as any current Porsche as I can speak of first hand experience not from hearsay or I "read". The problem is the big checkbook buys you only the car not any feel /skill for the machinery and that goes for Porsche as well except the Porsche is a little more forgiving to idiots.
We delivered one of the first Enzo's in the country last year and I got to drive it a few blocks, simply awesome, had the invitation to go to Leipzig for the Carrera GT introduction last summer but declined because I was leaving the business, still saw it in person but was never able to drive it. The above Enzo owner also has a Carrera GT and can frequently be seen in the Malibu canyons driving the cars and yes , there are not garage queens, he really drives them.
Somebody mentioned a Cay TT and being a 5000 pounds plus vehicle you will be surprised how nimble they are and I was surprised how smooth and predictable that thing was when we did hot laps at Barber in Alabama.

Btw, for the poster who wrote both the Enzo and the Carrera GT are ugly, I have a message for you: the drugs will set you free...........

Sorry to burst your bubble, the carrerGT sounds fab; the Enzo makes it sound like a 2.0l Neon....

And why are people talking about runnig cost and a $1million dollar car in the same sentance.
