Default 951 vs. Enzo Ferrari

Well, all of those in here that are making 300hp or more, have better engineered/performing cars than an Enzo.

Enzo= 110hp/L

951 w/ 300hp= 120hp/L

True but 1980s compared to 2004 should more than make up for it.

The true grit is in HP/LB....

yea, and 600K vs. 10K????

Yea, the Enzo tips the scales just over 3000lb, sooooo that is a pretty good pwr/weight ratio

it compares you just have to factor in boost hp/pressure
enzo=650hp/1atm*6L=110hp/L*BAR
TonyG's 944=~460hp/2atm*2.5L=92hp/L*BAR

Tony's was a verry efficient turbo motor and he still got smoked on a fair scale, the enzo is pushin some ponies out of that car.

Regards,
John

Enzo: 3000lb/600hp= 5lbs/hp
951: 3100lb/300=10.3lb/hp (street)
951: 2900lb/400= 7.25lb/hp (super street or track)

The Enzo is a monster.....By any other standard, so is a 400hp 951....

It's also probably a little more fair to compare the area under the torque curve. I'd bet that the enzo makes better torque/hp across a much wider range.

Like a slow, big motorcycle (not that I ride but 9k rpms was interesting). Granted this was only in a straight line and I'm used to driving my 951 w/ Garrett, MAF, 18 psi, etc.

that enzo hp is to the crank
ours is to the wheels.
not that it matters.

I think they are ugly, same with the carrera gt.
But I have yet to see them in person.

The Carrera GT is a fine specimen when you see it in person. You will truly appreciate the technology and design of the car when it is front of you. I liked it even before I saw it in person (pictures). There is not a doubt in my mind that the carrera gt would be first on my list, especially over the Enzo. The Ferraris are very nice cars, no doubt, but they are still finicky cars as far as reliability is concerned. For the most part, you can flog a Porsche everyday and it will be pretty darn reliable considering the performance you get. The people that I know that own Ferraris don't push them near as hard as the Porsche's they own and the Ferraris are still more expensive to maintain due to design issues.

The sound of a Ferrari motor is really hard to beat. The Carrera GT sounds nice in the video clips I have seen, but it is not as sweet as the Ferrari.

The Carrera GT exhaust notes demolishes any sound a road going car has to offer.
