Default Timing belt

When are you suppose to change your timing belt and water pump. I’m hearing lots of opinions.
I am sure this question has been asked a thousand and one times. Sorry and thanks

Timing belt and balance shaft belts every 45,000 or 3-4 years whichever comes first. Tension belts 1,000-1,500 miles (important because new belts will stretch), then every 15,000 after that. Water pump (depending on condition - rotate and check every belt change) - I’ve found LASO water pumps last 90,000 or so. YMMV. Front end reseals as needed, but Id do it every 45,000 or so. Check/replace the oil pump gear behind the crankshaft seal at about 100,000 when you do a reseal.

time matters on the belts as they age in the air. every 5 years. but how do you know how long it has been at the parts store and warehouse. you could be changing a belt with an older belt even. if low miles no need to change water pump tho.
