Default diagnostic advice

I would appreciate any advice I can get on this problem. 86 951 stock w no mods. The car intermittently idles poorly and wants to bog down on takeoff, then launches when the turbo seems to kick in. runs ok at hwy speeds. sometimes problem goes away and comes back, no change when engine warm or cold , at times car runs fine w good linear acceleration. my shop guy is getting advice from devek performance in san francisco and they have told him it might be a collapsed inner wall in some part of the exhaust system. tia for any helpful thoughts.

If the tps gives the wrong signal, then the dme will cut off fuel just after throttle is opened before then giving the signal to add fuel, this going lean causes a stumble. One possibility out of many.
