How come 951's cannot take so much power in the rear wheels? i mean, most people here with 300+whp take it easy on the throttle during 1st and 2nd gears. I read articles on 911's (965's and 930's) hitting 500+whp with stock drive train (except clutch and flywheel). I even saw ads of 944 turbo's power sliding. Did anyone here REALLy break something due to loads of power?

modded 911s easily snap driveshafts. even with upgraded driveshafts they can break ( I have seen it several times). The load on the drivetrain when taking off in first gear releasing the clutch quickly is probably several times higher than during hard acceleration in other gears. If you are into that kind of abuse you have to pay for it one way or the other, regardless of car. Most people use their 951 for other purpose than trafffic light racing hence their smoother driving style.

But then, what is the max power the rear end can handle without braking? im not talking about letting go of the clutch on 1st on high rpms.

Under what conditions?

I know most race cars can handle 400 to 500 rwhp without much issue. Some do fail, but may hold-up. Drag racing can kill the tranny's even with stock power levels.

On street tires, the tires will break loose before anything will break in the drivetrain.
