New Falken's on 18's (Pic)
I just had new Falken Azenis ST-115's installed today. Man, are they quiet compared to the wornout Dunlops. I love the rim protection bead. It is deep on this tire. I chose these because they are suppose to wear longer, and be quieter, with a small sacrifice in traction. I don't track mine, so this shouldn't be an issue. They are very affordable, also. The quality is excellent and they are made in Japan. I picked these up from Discount Tire Direct. Kary

One more angle. I thought that I would add that they are suppose to do very well in the wet due to the 2 extra large grooves. I don't think they do snow too well. Kary

Actually, the car needs paint. It is still original and it shows. It is an 89 model with plenty of dings and rock chips. I need to go ahead and strip the parts off and have it painted, but like so many others on the list, I went without her for so long on the rebuild, I'm not willing to put her down again for a long time.
As far as the underside goes, I went through a complete rebuild a year ago. I had the calipers powder coated red, bead blasted the rotors, and painted them silver. I need to repaint the wheels, as well as the caps. I will post a few more pics in a few days. I need to put my front spoiler back on. As far as the tires go, I don't know much yet except that they are quiet. I took those pictures this afternoon, straight from the tire shop. Kary
Oh, and the exhaust is stock except the muffler was replaced with a Walker stainless steel unit with a stainless tip at the back. The cat is also a little easier breathing now a days......uh hmmm!

I love the rim protection bead.
Why?? The tires are clearly undersized for the wheel and they arent going to do a damn thing for you.
BTW, what wheels are you running, they must be hella wide for a 265 to look undersized.

Matt H, I just like the look of tires that have the rim protection bead. They change the appearence of the wheel. I don't think the beads would really protect anything. I've seen several with chunks missing. Kary

I don't like working on a grease pit anymore. I broke down and even bought a box of latex gloves. I guess at 34, I've turned into a *****! I think part of the reason for the gloves is that I work in aerospace and we wear gloves for just about every process anymore. After you get used to that, you feel naked without it. I always were safety glasses also. Man, I'm getting old. Kary
