Yep, I can share spec files. They are really easy to make yourself. The Motronic Editor by Marc Skarshinsky has features for finding maps of all kinds and when you have found them you just modify the address for the map in the spec file.

;91 951 First Maps modified by Bengt
[Fuel Maps]
pt_offset=$148C
idle_offset=$1538
wot_offset=$1544
[Timing Maps]
pt_offset=$12CA
idle_offset=$13AC
wot_offset=$1376
[Other Maps]
revlimit_offset=$1171

;91 951 Second Maps modified by Bengt
[Fuel Maps]
pt_offset=$17F6
idle_offset=$18A2
wot_offset=$18AE
[Timing Maps]
pt_offset=$16FA
idle_offset=$17C8
wot_offset=$17A6
[Other Maps]
revlimit_offset=$1171

;91 951 Third Maps modified by Bengt
[Fuel Maps]
pt_offset=$1A0E
idle_offset=$1ABA
wot_offset=$1AC6
[Timing Maps]
pt_offset=$1912
idle_offset=$19E0
wot_offset=$19BE
[Other Maps]
revlimit_offset=$1171

Make a text file and then change to .spc IIRC. You choose spec file and thereby maps on the load page.

Different Motronics have different addresses but they are not that difficult to find if you use Marc's program ( right click on last page in the program).

Excellent information

What we really need are more details of the KLE.

The degree of ignition modification (retard) under different boost levels would be very useful to know / remap.

Are we to assume that the retard map only works to .82 bar in the standard KLE map?

Would it be programmable to interpret higher boost such as 22/24 psi ?

I don't use the KLE boost control (I've got a DPW & SBC-iD EBC), but would be interested using the PWM output for the boost control modulation valve to control water injection, since it's now redundant as boost control.

More information is definately needed about the DME before I can consider moving the ATS to the inlet manifold.

So many questions

Rick.

I'll have to get my S4 programmer and old chip sets out this weekend

I think this is by far the most interesting thread in a long time

I just downloaded Marc's Motronic Editor; looks very interesting! Now I'd like to play with it a little -- does anyone have the ROM images (.BIN files) for a 951 that they could send me (mopar314@hotmail.com)?

I'm just curious how the actual maps look like... thanks!

Gary.

The ignition map on a stock chip is of course adapted to the stock load conditions.
Make any modification and you need to remap. This program allows the remapping but it wont compensate for lack of mapping skills though so make sure you know what you are doing or what risks you take.

It doesn't read boost but, yes you can adapt ignition and fuel maps to fit a higher boost level.

Check out this thread for some info.https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...hreadid=134087
Would any one be interested in the editor I wrote for the 28 pin DME for the 951 only ie it isn't configurable.
Very nice!
Wouldn't it be a good idea to develop such a motronic editor in public domain? e.g. under GNU licence?
Great idea, I would be very interested in participating.

Thanks Tomas L and Bengt. I missed the earlier thread and have not seen that information before .... I'd like to see the rest of that publication ....

Instead of the 0 280 217 531 MAF I use the 0 281 002 403 MAF from VW/Audi as a LMM replacement. It is installed in most V6 TDI engines. VW part#: 059 906 461B. It is easier ($$$) to get...

I do have a lot of "dirty" code arround to calculate and modify DME data. I would love to get all together in a "clean" program for the 951. That should include the KLR tables.

The breakout box is just a temporary tool. It is used to develop an interface to a laptop based data-logger. Main reason bhind this projet is not to make the car faster. But since our cars are getting older every day, most of the Motronic sensors are out of the specified range. Such a tool helps a lot to identify problems in a short time.

Here's a photo of the internals:

PS:
The F1 race was great. As usual...

Gary I have emailed you a copy of the DME bin for a 1988 26/6 28 pin
(the KLR chip is not handled by the editor, but I will include it anyway)

If any one else needs these (for educational purposes only of course)
just PM me
