Default Another tire size question. 225 tire on 7 inch Club Sport rims

Just refinished these in Satin Sutter Gold powder coat.

7Jx16 et65
9Jx16 et 60

they are going on my 87 944T that currently has 7.5 et 65 and 9 et52 chromed D90s on it.(in signature) They also will be refinished at some point (chrome is flaking and bubbling)

I want matching tires and as we know it is getting harder to find these days. The rears are no issue with 245/45/16...i can find those in the TOYO R888Rs

the front i can also get in Toyo R888Rs but....225/45.

lots various ideas..opinions on the 225 on the 7 inch rim.

fresh ideas or opinions for a "matching tire" set. Street driven in a sporty fashion

I believe the correct size for front tires in that set would be 225 50 16. The 225 section will be fine on a 7" wheel.

Gorgeous wheels, but tires for wide 16s has been a problem for a few years now. Race tires come in the right size, but are compromised in the rain. There's some Yokohama tires that will work for you, but the price on the R888R is pretty good. The fronts will work, but will introduce a bit of rake with the smaller outer diameter.
