Tachometer stopped working

Since the car is running, the signal from the ECU is probably OK.
That narrows it down to a bad tach (it does happen) or a broken wire (maybe) or a loose connection (most likely). Get out a wiring diagram ahd start checking.
There are also bench test procedures for the tach, but you need a signal generator and a 12 volt power supply...

I face the same issue (sort of - intermittently working tach). My attempt to replace capacitors failed when I tried to reassemble (broke the pin that is connected to the needle).I didn’t feel the repair cost of $400 was reasonable from either of the often mentioned speedo repair places.
I spend weeks looking for a good one on eBay US, but finally found a good selection a couple of months ago on eBay UK via seller luxury_car_spares.
Pricing was reasonable.
