Default Wastegate arrived

Finally its here, thanks to SFR nice one guys.

ITs a real shame to stick this under the car it looks fab. Should be sat on the top of the engine so its the first thing you see.

I am surprised at how heavy it is, i see why people try and fabricate a bracket for it, I think i will try and do the same.

All i have to do is fit it now...

The wastegate isn't all that heavy, it's the adapter flanges. Just out of curiosity, I weighed the old wastegate vs the Tial complete w/flanges. Surprise, the Tial kit was 6 oz less. Go figure. The difference was probably the pound of carbon buildup in the old unit. j/k

The Tial certainly is a good looking piece. Put that in with a manual boost controller, and your only regret will be you didn't do it sooner.

The wastegate is all alu. The flanges do contribute much of the weight. My old WG felt like an anchor by comparison.

I'm with you guys on this one - I have refused to bolt all that extra ballast (adapter plates) under my car without some further fettling.

I don't have access to a milling machine so its all been hand-draulic - I've re-profiled the plates to their respective flanges but still have to bevel all of the non-mating edges.

They're noticiabley lighter already and look far more pleasing to the eye than the pieces of barstock that had been abused by a jiffy saw.

There is still definitely room for improvement in the finished form of the adapter plates.

I just used the Tial plates and welded in some pipe. Works really well.
