Luis (de Prat): I love the second picture of your car. You should make it into a poster... Those houses! (Looks just like Riegelsville PA where I live. Not!)

Gordon, Thanks! If you're referring to the 83 944, that's Old San Juan, in Puerto Rico.

jurq, i cleaned it out. thanks.

kevin, i'm looking for something in black, red, silver, grey, pretty much most of the colors except burgundy. interior either black or tan, none of those weird colors.

uhh.. looking to spend from $6-8k (8k being the most and worth it). it doesn't have to be mint but in good condition. this is going to be a daily driver though. ill fly to other states if the price is a steal and well worth it.

alot of people are trying to get $8-9k for a normal condition 951 which is crazy. all im looking for is a nice condition 951 thats priced nicely and ready to be modded to hell. whenever i look on ebay or autotrader you find ppl asking a price that you can buy a turbo s with.

Hey, v944god, I'm looking for a 944 too and am finding a lot of them on autotrader and roadfly that are in that range. First, if the guy says he wants $11,000, that's, what, $9,500 in cash money? On a quick search just now (for you) on autotrader, I found 6 944 Turbos within 300 miles of your zipcode: $11k, $11K, $10k, $8.9k, $8k, and $6.5K... Many, many more if you go wider. If you want to pay what the guys are asking for, there's very nice dark blue metallic with grey Porsche cloth seats in Michigan (500 miles from you) for $8300 that's very very clean and straight. There's also a very nice sliver with burgandy in Reading, PA, with an asking price of $8900 that's very clean (I have number if you want it).

I have a slightly higher budget and have been looking at cars from $10-14,000. Most of these owners are willing to sell for a few thousand less when you get down to buying. I think others on this list will confirm that.

Don't mean to be suggesting much here, but there are a lot of nice cars out there that need homes. I have an empty bay that needs a car...

Speaking of that, v944god, I notice you've got a TII. Nice car. Any pics? I am looking for a nice, clean 1989 GTUs, mint.

Gordon,

Thanks alot bro I appreciate the input. Ya, I just got rid of my TII, and it was one quick car except for the ongoing problems. It pulled hard, but I got bored of the power after 2 months. I was planning on getting a 3rd gen like yourself, but I'm not into the engines.

Ya I know what you mean Gordon. I looked on autotrader and found a bunch of cars. The only problem I have is the fact they are not rennlisters, plus how do I convince the owner to either get a PPI or to drop the price over the phone? I don't want to fly all the way down and end up seeing a POS and having to fly back. But if I can get a owner to drop the price from $8k to $6.5-6 than I'll jump on it in a heartbeat if it fits my criteria. I would try to find a 951 for a higher price, but with that money I could invest it in something alot more important than a car.

v944god, have you checked out boostguy's car? Very nice, with a few tasteful mods. I have lots of info from him, and I like the car, but it's in Boston, plus I still have a few weeks until my T is officially gone. Based on what I've recieved, I'd say it's a quality car, if I were closer I would have put a deposit down on it already. Here's a link to his original Rennlist ad. https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...hreadid=128158

BTW, if you can't check out a car in person, find another Rennlister to do it, I'm sure you could find someone happy to do so. If it checks out through them, then move ahead by requesting that the buyer do a PPI, once again I'd ask for advice here as to which out of town shop to take it to. When I get serious on a car I always ask the seller what his bottom dollar is, it's a great way to figure out just how negotiable they are, and they rarely give their actual bottom dollar. You east and west coast guys don't know how much you have it made, try finding a 951 in the midwest.
