Default Need help

Hello everyone,

I'm having some problems with my car after the Tail 38mm and 3" testpipe install. It won't idle at all and smells like the car is running very rich. I put the boost pressure line on the top port and left the bottom port to atomoshere. What could be wrong? It runs fine but wont idle.

Thanks,
Leo

First, I'll assume that you have a regulator type boost controller and not a check valve type. If so your fine there.
Second, I don't know if it's related but when I had the MAP kit installed on my car when I switched from the stock cat to a test pipe I had to cut out alot of fuel at idle. I don't know if its the lack of backpressure or what, but it made a huge diffenrce for me. But you don't have the MAP kit so I'm not really sure. Maybe you knocked off a vacuum line or two when during the WG install???
What amount of vacuum are you pulling at idle?

I don't have a EBC/MBC. I just have the reliaboost. I just figured out my mistake. I was suppose to attach the boost pressure line to the side port and not the top port. The top port should vent to atmosphere. I hope i didn't cause any problems to the car. I'll fix that tomorrow. Do you think that is the reason the car couldn't idle??

Reliaboost is an MBC. You are right in your latest port config. top vents to atm. Idle issues, vac leak?

So what would be the problem having the boost line on the top port instead of the side port of the wastegate?

Ya, if you ran with it in the top port and did some long full boost runs, you could have much bigger problems. Headgasket......

I doubt the two are related, other than possible damage done from overboosting.
