I compared my old 951 switch with the oil switch out of a 930 motor. They are identical, and made by VDO. There is a VDO stamping, a temp stamp, and then the Porsche part #. My 951 part also had a 930 part#. Another one had a 951 part #. They were both too tall to fit the K27/6

Thanks for the clarification.

Do you know the temperature rating of this switch? I believe this would be lower than 120 degrees. I also believe that there's a cheaper switch, w/a slim prong coming straight off the switch body. I could've sworn I've seen it and noted the part # but I couldn't find anything.

Anyway, thanks for all the help thus far.

The 930.606.118.00 part turns on at 130-C and off at 116-C. Also if you get this part, make sure you get the VDO version and not the Bosch unit. The VDO part# is 232 011 017 076. It's about 1/2" shorter than the Bosch unit and can work with the different rotation of the water-pipe when used with larger turbos (won't hit the underside of the intake-manifold).

I'm not sure what the temp-range of the NAPA part is, but it's lower than the 951 part because my turbo water-pump does run a little longer with it installed.

Thanks for the info Danno.

I'm busy with exams this week, but hope to resume the parts search and post an update as soon as I can.

OK, so I've found and ordered a replacement switch that is both cheap (less than $30), and lower profile for more clearance. It appears to be for the correct aplication, and temperature range.

I will test it on my own car around tuesday, and I will report back. I assume other people would be interested in this.

So, Ahmet, did your replacement switch work?

I believe it did, but that car's switched hands twice now!
