Autothority chips?

You sure can't beat Danno for being helpful with making adjustments to his chips.
I heard back from APE, who agree that , yes, their chips do run rich. Not lean like someone suggested. He said: We haven't done a lot of work to the mapping of those chips mostly due to the fact that the car makes good power and runs safely for a wide spectrum of 951's.
As for washing of the cylinder walls, he says that would only be an issue if there's no spark. Come to think of it, that would be an issue whether or not the car's running rich.
IMO, the only time cylinder wall "washing" could be a factor is if an injector is in seriously bad shape. Has anyone had experience otherwise?

What I don't like about the APE is when you start the car you leave a black spray on the garage floor or driveway. My wife sure liked that - yikes. Solution: Park the car on the neighbor's side - LOL.

I had Weltmeister chips that my PO had put in and during the changeing of the blown headgasket, hint hint, the mech showed me the head and what not. You could see the bad discoloration of really fat in the low end and lean up top. I would guess that Welts are not far off from the APE.

Here's some charts of APE chips using mods that the designers didn't anticipate, like manual-boost controller that can hold max-boost to redline better than the banjo-bolt restrictors:
While you can compensate for the non-flat air-fuel curve with increasing fuel-pressure or lowering boost, this just richens the entire curve. But you can't flatten it out and remove the mid-range richness and the high-end leaning tendency.
