I know where one of these are in white sitting since 1993 taken apart and when they were still racing it in 1989 they purchased a totaled Clubsport sister car in this run from same dealer Carlsen Porsche and used most of the spares and scraped car up I don’t know which number it was sorry. Richard here in the forums has one of these ‘88 Clubsports 16v S cars in great shape and has a lot more info on them he’s a great help

Our car came with the Fiberglass factory hood, magnesium phone dial wheels, Recaro factory race seat with the crest stitched in, SaBelt race harness, Factory installed Matter roll cage, rear wiper delete, no undercoating, no sunroof, and No Power Steering. It looked just like the 86 and 87 turbo cup car's we ran just with a different engine. I'll try and run vin's listed by Boost Feen later, but I think your looking for Option 754, turbo-cup Fahrzeuge. We have owned the car since new.

Yeah I believe depending on what dealer in the US and prob only 3-4 we’re ordering these Clubsports wether it be a 8 V or 16V they had to pay up front for the extra goodies like fiberglass hood mag 16” wheels and matter cage, bilsteins etc. because the turbo cup stuff wouldn’t have been allowed to run in the showroom stock series on the 8v and 16v cars they had to have the reg stuff that came equipped on the other cars to be legal. I believe a few years into the series once Firehawk started and they were a few years old then you could start adding the extra mods and still comply with the rules for the series.

what dealer was your car sold through Iroc?

The 944S and Turbo cup-spec "Escort" Clubsports very likely all went thru Porsche Motorsport North America, Al Holbert's dealership in PA, for prep prior to going to the buyer (dealer or race team). My understanding is that the Matter cages and other safety equipment (ignition kill, harnesses, etc) were installed after importation by PMNA.

These were the M637/M754 optioned cars, which had the race spec'd suspension, various performance upgrades, and safety equipment. They were not legal in SCCA Showroom Stock classes or IMSA Firehawk series in the late 80's (not until 1991 with the Super 7 S2 Clubsports were the factory prepped cars legal in Firehawk).

I don't know if the other delete optioned production cars (M719 - special construction), that were ordered and intended for use in Showroom Stock or Firehawk racing went thru PMNA.

For reference - various documentation that refers to the M637 Clubsport option and parts, and bills of sale and MSOs that are thru Holbert/PMNA for several of the "Escort" cars.
