Do you guys ever have a problem with IE opening minimized? When i open it the first time, it opens fine, full screen. If you then click a link that opens up a new browser window, it is hidden off the screen, and you have to right click on the toolbar and maximize it...highly annoying! Any ideas?

There are NUMEROUS spyware programs that will do exactly what you are seeing.
Check out adaware its free for personal use and works great and unlike other spyware programs doesn't install spyware to find spyware
Their site is:

There's also spybot S&D and Hijack This! that work well at fixing that sort of stuff.
Or you could just download Mozilla Firefox and not worry about that crap anymore. Works great, I never use IE anymore except on the occasional page with way too much active-x stuff for menus etc that won't work with it. (Places that use that suck anyway for adhereing to the concept that web pages are supposed to be browser independent). http://www.mactools.com is a good example of a page that sucks like that in Firefox but works fine in IE.
Firefox is fully opensource/free and nice and lightweight and fast unlike regular mozilla.
Go check it out at http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/
I will warn you that it blocks popups (not that that's generally bad) but for some sites you may occasionally actually need or want them to work so you have to specify which sites will allow popups on a case by case basis in the settings. No big deal, I think I have about 3 websites I have had to enable them on. If you are getting popups then you might not have the box checked to block them. Had that happen one time that I installed it for some reason.
Oh and the tabbed browsing is very handy too, I use the everliving crap out of that feature.

I use Opera (because it lets you block cookies on a per-site basis and has tabbed browsing) and the MacTools site opens in it fine. A couple of sites don't though, most annoying is the part of eBay where you add photographs to a new listing. Grrr...

Opera's not bad either. I've had problems getting plugins to work with it though, plus you have to pay for it or live with the ad-bar thing. (well there's other alternatives to paying but you get the idea).

Oh and with Firefox, if you need to d/l plugins for flash or whatever, just use the netscape versions and they'll work fine. Sometimes you'll get messages from the plugin installer saying it won't work it's not supported etc, just install it anyway and it will.
