leak down test on my 968 Turbo S
to make it short.
The test was done on a cold engine (about 9 degree celsius in the garage) so the test on a warm engine should be even better.
#1 1% lost
#2 2% lost
#3 2% lost
#4 2% lost
so that means that my engine holds about 98% to 99% Pressure:-)
much better than my 951. (from 4 to 12 % lost)
The 968 Turbo has a 20000 km rebuild engine (12500 miles) with brand new Block, pistons, rings, head etc etc,

I don't know. this was a factory prototype car. after a Porsche dealer made a mistrake they put in teh R&D motorport department a new engine in it.
this is all I know.
I just made some pics of the Turbo the intercooler etc

Enviable numbers.
Do you have any information on how that is done, such as piston type and clearance, ring type and gap, cylinder wall material?
Being even close to those numbers should make the (band-aid) thread "Crankcase Vent System" unnecessary.

stock 968Turbo S pistons
stock rings for nikasil
stock 968 Turo S lock with nikasil coating.
Porsche never mad aa repair manual or some other kind of books for the 968 turbo so no one knows what and how they did it.
if someone wants to knopw why they used nikasiland not alusil on the 968 Turbo it was NOT because nikasil is harder or better. It was for better oiling in the cylinders and rings
