Default the K-27 with #7 hot side

What can any one tell me about this turbo? I am looking at a 951 that has had this installed on it. How quick will something like this spool with stock exhast and intake? I believe the car has a Mass airflow sensor as well. The owner does not know what kind of HP it is making but thinks it is in the 300 hp range. Any ideas?

The K27 was the turbo used on the 911 Turbo so basically it's a bigger fan. The diameter is bigger so you're gonna have less down low (lots of lag) but when it starts to sing, hold on for dear life.

There is no such thing as a #7. Some companies machined the #6 hot housing and named it the #7.

Be careful, not all K27 compressors are alike. Get the wrong one, and you will be very unhappy with the results. The K27 compressor that you want is the K27-7200.

Ahh I will do some more checking, this is what the owner has in his add. This turbo is already in the car so I will be stuck with it at least for a while. Probably want to chang it for the vitesse stage 2. Need quick spool.

I had that one from Powerhaus. It's a 27/6. Now I have a 27/6, 7200, oil cooled only, its better than the powerhaus one, quicker spool and more power.

By any chance, do you happen to know how much power you're making? at the wheels of course...

What kind of problems would a non-7200 K27 give you? I don't know which one mine is... is there an easy visual cue?

alright that clears it up for me...powerhaus should have just called it a 27/6 instead of making things confusing.

I'll have to get back to you on that. I'm waiting on guru chips to go with my 55lb injectors. Car hardly runs now. I'll also be going to the dyno in about 3-4 weeks. But, I'll let you know where it spools and power as soon as I know. From what I remember the boost hits hard at 4000rpm.

I just finished an install on my '88. Powerhaus 27/6-7200, Guru chips,
Tial 38mm, MBC, jet hot coated exhaust pieces & heat shields. My research showed that the turbo unit was stamped 5327 988 7200. The Powerhaus 27/6 I just got does not show this number,(cold side....correct???) however on several occasions David specified that it is a 7200. It does not have a clipped compressor wheel.
The car runs, very, very well. Extremely more impressive to drive than before with only APE-MAF, exhaust, LBE & blow off valve. The disassembly & install were quite straight forward, with much help from the list. An outstanding resource for this job.
Now.........here in WV we aint got no dynomemters......... the closest one is Colombus, OH which is 4 hours and I don't have the where-with-all to trailer the car just yet. But like I said, the car runs very, very well & is quite impressive to drive at 18psi of boost. Needs injectors!! I know my comments are only that.......no hard & fast HP #'s......no hard & fast A/F ratios---which is REAL scary.........so it's totally subjective. But, I'm very satisfied with the results.

What part of WV? I live just north of Pittsburgh, have the same mods, there is a Dyno in Ohio near Sandusky that I will be going to soon, My drag car will be there next week for a week or so getting a AEM installed and dyno tuned, might as well take the 951 up as well.
