i dont think the exhaust material means a damn for exhaust sound....mufflers, resonators, tube thickness, quarter wave resonators, etc are how you change the sound.

you could spend $1100 on a titanium catback, or you could get the same sound (but +8 lbs?) for $80 at larry's tire and muffler down the street from your house.

just IMO...
LOLZ, nice to see somebody taking my slack when I aint 'round.

If you stand at track out at a 944 race, 20 cars will pass by with the same sound and not $3k worth of exhaust past the header between all 20 cars.

This is bling and something to add to your forum signature.

Probably on line somewhere. i’m not sure if you can actually get a decent recorded sound anyway. It’s a 4 cylinder turbo, which is pretty difficult to make sound nice, but I’ve been told by many that it actually sounds pretty nice. These guys are in the Motorsports Business and they would have no problem telling me it sounds like crap if it did.

No turbos, but I've been to several SPEC races at Fontana and the 944 field is a swarm of angry bees...

Probably because I’m getting old, but I like my Magnaflow sport cat and $100 Magnaflow muffler. Not to loud and some raspiness. My butt dyno also felt the turbo spool quicker when compared to the chambered Flowmaster that the previous owner installed. The Flowmaster was quite restrictive.

But as already stated, it’s a 4 cylinder, not an Aston or Jag, damn those sound good.

I was looking at this exhaust for my 944 turbo but im not sure its worth it. There are no sound clips out there. I've ben considering a used 4 inch Lindsey exhaust I found for sale.

my $0.03.... a 3.5" is better (thats why I built one) a 3" is not worth it regardless of material. I put a Resonator where the Cat would be and a small "race muffler" just before the tip, just to take the edge off.

heres a good article on thiis

well for what people are paying for a 3", might as well get a 3.5" I can tell you the spool up on my turbo is very quick, feels more like a modern car, (Im sure the EFR turbo helps too, but its a 71mm) and it sounds really good.

One reason most places don't offer a bigger exhaust is because most mandrel benders dont have dies bigger than 3" the increase from 2.5-3" is minimal.
