Default How much Water Wetter do you use?

How much should be poured into the coolant system. A capful?, Half a bottle? The whole bottle?

My technician, who also frequents the list, suggested I just dump the whole bottle in, but that was changing over the distilled water and eliminating the coolant.

According to the bottle instructions, you'd use ~1/2 the bottle. I guess the extra doesn't hurt.

umm... opps, I used the whole bottle when I bought it... You're talking about the small bottle? OK, educate me on why not to do that if not.

1/2 a bottle if you use coolant

full bottle if not.

Reason = 1/2 is recommended level for our coolant system size per directions on the bottle.

If you are running water only just add the whole thing. It does provide some lube benefits similar to coolant so the more the better. Two bottle is probably overkill.

I've used a whole bottle plenty of times. No problems.

Actually, anyone found it hard to get a hold of any??? other than ordering from mail order or net. Used to be able to get it at local parts stores.

Initially it was hard to find, but then all my local Autozones started carrying it, and so do the hot rod and domestic shops.

Peb Boys sells it along with the SL-1 FI cleaner. Summit Racing is having a sale on Redline oils & water wetter for March and April @ $6.45/bottle. I just orderd some along with some MT-90, and other goodies.

Well, I fill up half of one of those Water-dispenser 5 gallon jugs with Water and Coolant and Water wetter. I think I used two bottles last time on my 928. I bet people like me in Warm climates could just use WW and water and skip the coolant.

Coolant keep things (like the head gasket) from corroding and lubricates the pump. In the long run, I think you are better off running at least a little bit of coolant for everyday use.

I have heard nothing but great things about it. I am going to change over to it for next summer. Along with all other redline products...engine oil and gear oil.
