Well I plan on having somewhere in the neighborhood of 350rwhp. Since my t/o bearing went, I thought now would be a good time to upgrade everything.

Err, no, the Stage 5 is for drag racing. The stage 4 is for "serious road racing". The stage 3 is a streetable clutch for big torque applications.

You can't have too much clutch, just too powerful a compression plate and too severe engagement. I think this sounds like it's the compromise I want (it still has springs) - hopefully I'll never have to see it again after it goes in, no matter how much abuse it gets. That's what I want anyway.

FWIW, the owner of www.944enhancement.com has a daily driven 374rwhp 944 and has the stock clutch after 100k+ miles. He road races a LOT. I guess it all matters how hard you beat on the clutch, but there are other alternatives than going to the on/off clutches aren't there?

I guess, but as it's

1. Already apart
2. Needs a new clutch
3. They all cost much the same
4. The car is not a daily driver
5. I don't want to have to do this again

I figure a bit of overkill won't hurt

I wouldn't use a stock clutch because of the frequency of the springs breaking. The cup clutch is an option, but as I say it costs the same as a lightweight 6 puck - or near-as.
