Default Fuel smell in cockpit

I have an ever so slight fuel smell in the cockpit.

Just enough that when you walk in the house after a drive you can smell it slightly on your clothes.

What would be the reasons for fuel smell in cockpit?

It seems to me somehow air from the engine compartment is getting into the cabin.

Thanks,
Blueman

check to see if your fuel vapor purge is disconnected / damaged / has a cracked hose etc.

i'm no expert. i had a few slight leaks in hoses coming off the fuel tank at the back of the car (not the actual fuel lines). is this a new occurrence? or has it always been there?

one thing to check for is some dumbass PO having tried to mount something in the boot like a subbie or an amp. look for holes drilled through the boot floor into the fuel tank. frickin idiot !

it's not new. it's been like that for the year and four months i've owned it.

it is a burned fuel smell, not a raw fuel smell.

and it's not a strong exhaust smell, just the smell you get from working on an engine......except this is from driving in the cockpit!

Check your rear hatch seal.

yup, i would second that. if it's exhaust, it's prolly getting sucked in through that small gap in the middle of the seal which you probably have .

I move that nomination to be closed. Prolly a leaky rear hatch seal. I had mine go out on my 87 n/a. I had it replaced and from then on.....no more problem. Best of all I got more dates outta it(since I didn't smell bad anymore) lol.
