Default Dyno results for Guru 18psi chips

Hi all,

got my car dynoed with gurus at 17.5-18psi today. afaik, stock car with 3bar fpr, shims, guru chips and accuboost (vs reliaboost that comes in the kit). i had no idea the car sounded so nasty from the outside at full pelt in 4th . i was like 'wah, run for cover!'.

this was on a dyno dynamics dynamometer. not sure how to compare torque figures off it (what is the conversion?), but peak power was 238 rwhp. using the correction factor between dyno dynamics and dynojet of 1.15 (Dyno conversion), comes to be about 273 rwhp. right on the money. will post charts later when i work out how to use the scanner. a/f started around 12.5 and went richer to around 11.5 near redline - nice! interestingly, the boost gauge shows around 17-18 psi, but the dyno boost says it peaked at 16.5

go danno!

nah, apparently the dyno dynamics dynos read lower than dynojets by about 13% or something. the think driveline loss on a dynojet is around 15%, and on a dyno dynamics it's around 27%. so 1/0.73 * 0.85 ~ 1.16 or thereabouts to convert from dyno dynamics dyno to dynojet. so that would make it around 276rwhp on a dynojet.

I used a dynamics dyno when I did my run... I cant see it underestimating by that much! It showed me pulling 315...

ok so my stock '88 non-S 951 on 98 octane fuel would run at about 240rwhp @ ~18 psi with the Guru chips+FPR+boost controller kit?

I've got a target of around 250rwhp (240 will be close enough) for my car, and am currently deciding between getting the chip kit or going up the next step and getting the MAP stage 1 kit. Any idea what sort of gains I could expect to get from that?

If your goal is only 240-250, dont get the MAP kit. By the way, goals have a tendenancy to increase... in that case, you should get the MAP kit.

IIRC,danno states on his website forums that a k26/6 with guru map kit puts down 260rwhp.

Ok, scanned dyno graphs:

hp:

kw (for the metric minded):

anybody know how to convert these to rpm (4th gear run)?

Well, using the figures from the RacerX site, you get

34.09666... km/h per 1000 rpm in 4th
25.1832833....km/h per 1000 rpm in 3rd

(ignoring significant figures etc.)

I ordered my chips 10 days ago and I'm waiting anxiously...As I understand it, the MAP kit uses the same chips so we can just kick in an extra $500 or so when the chips aren't enough. Is this true?
