How do 951's fair up against the E36/8 Coupes exactly? How much money do you think it'd take to walk a fairly modded one around 350hp?

depends on if you do your own work or not. Are we talking part's only or part's and labor?

I have 4k in my car but, that is part's and labor both so. I I figure 2-3k in your car and you would be walking him.

if you want a list of my mods.....just ask I would be happy to list them. Our car's make obsene power with very little money. I haven't been on the dyno so I don't know how much power I am making but, I raced a modded e36 from about 35-40mph up to 100 and I was about 6 or 7 links on him. Of course he said he was modded.....lol....who know's how modded.

I'd say 2-3k in mods and you will be running away from him easy. Maybe less just depends on what part's you get and who does your install.

My 951 is about a fast as any without any major mods and I love the look as well as the balance. After driving a M coup at VIR for two laps I would have no problem paying $5k plus my car and switching. Nice looks and 333hp vs 285hp.

Jerry I agree with you on the m coupe's being nice. My uncle own's one. The question wasent weither or not it was a nice car or not....the quesion was what does it take to beat one. As I stated before......not much. I don't really like talking too much about the money issue.......because well to each their own....I could drive a bpu supra for the amount of money I have in my current 951. The fact is that a well ballanced modded 951 will hand a m powered coupe it's ***. On the track and on the street. In order for the bmw to compete you would have to throw alot I mean alot of money at it to get the very same performace and I my opinion driving expeirence. It's all in opinion's though. My comment's while not targeted at the driving experience as a hole but, rather in the performace area what kind of money does it take to beat one of the car's at the track. The answer still remanins..........not much.......not much at all.

I have a good friend that got a killer deal on a mid 90's M5 and is in the process of putting a blower on it. Guess I gott put some more mods on mine

Todd I know of one around here that's turbocharged pushing 17psi of boost!@!@! I havent raced him.......yet But, from what I hear his car is sick. He has white paint with the color band around the front of the car with the newest style m-powered rims chrome. His car is real clean. I plan to run into him sometime on the highway and have some fun.
