Default Strut info please

Would someone with some good strut/M030 knowledge care to tell me what's going on here? TIA and I'll elaborate more as info comes in; I have my own opinion but need a little help.

Anyone got a set of M030 struts around or in position to check color or part number against the photo?

Looks like original M030 threaded collars, with different perches and 2.25" springs.
The mounts for the ABS connector look a little bent-out-of-shape. In fact, the collor seems too darn low (is it being held up by the connector mount?)

What's the deal?

Exactly. These are in Corpus at Jims shop and he was taking them to Jason to look at but he's out getting ready for the PCA club race this weekend. I think the spot/pc where the collars are supposed to ride is worn out, therefore letting the collar slip down. They were sold to us as a GREAT set of M030 struts. I think a little correction in price is needed since they'll have to go to True Choice.

Whoever did that coilover conversion on those struts messed up. You're supposed to leave a little of the perch for the coilover sleeve to fit onto. Here's a picture of the struts beforehand:

When you cut off the perches, you leave a little ledge for the coilover sleeve:

Ground Control makes little rings you can weld onto the strut housings just for this purpose.

Yeah thanks Danno but as the above states...oh well, I think we should be able to resolve this.

Actually HE sold them for someone else and he's the one who contacted me.

BTW, just got off the phone with True Choice, for those interested: to open a shock for inspection/rebuild/revalve etc, is $135 ea. Seals and such are usually $35-$65 ea, a piston, if you need, it is extra.

Did you get your items sold Sam?

I've finally got what looks like a committed buyer, hopefully.

What about TrueChoice's cost for DA convert?

Those dampers are missing the shoulder for the adjustment collar to ride on.

Koni NA will rebuild your units for $140 plus parts. I just had mine done and they look like they are brand new.
