Dash Cam Install
I bought a dash cam for my sons car that has FCW since he is a relatively new driver. It requires switched and constant 12V. Anyone install one recently that can give me a good choice of how and where to run the wire?

I installed a 1 din stereo with a reverse cam a few weeks ago. I spliced the reverse light wires on the passengers side to power the camera. I also spliced an extra wire to the 12V+ of the reverse light and connected it to the red wire that goes back to the stereo head as the video phono cable. This is important for a stereo as you need +12V at the head end to tell the dash cam that you are in reverse, so that it changes the input to the camera. On a dash cam, it might not be that important. The wire itself, I passed behind carpet and trim from the passenger side. Simple enough with some pulling and poking. If you have to push the wire under trim, use something plastic and not a flat head screw driver.
Good luck.
Good luck.

I would love to see photos of your rear camera install, how it looks on your single DIN.

I haven't looked at this on my 951 in a long time but I recall both 12 v switched and unswitched coming off the ingnition where the key goes and easy to access.

Here you go. The camera is at the bottom of the plate holder. I passed the wire under the trim by the passenger door. And there’s a picture of the Stereo. It’s a cheap brand made in China (Podofo) but a huge improvement over the one that was there. The final step was getting the wires out from the hose drain hole from the rear hatch drain plug. You can squeeze the hose through the hole with the wires do you maintain drainage.
