Default Apexi AVC-r Install (opinions?)

Recently got a fantastic deal ono an AVC-r from fellow lister Pat Egan (great guy), and I need a few opinions on where to stick this thing. I've got autometer boost and A/F guages in the space below my stereo now, but I'm considering chucking them to stick the AVC-r there. I'm thinking a stealth liiking compartment like this RX7 guy has setup:

Any thoughts?

I wonder what good it would do hidden? I guess set it and forget? I have not found a good place that did not involve it being obnoxious or enticing to steal. I might hide mine in the armrest or below the radio.

I've never seen a reason to leave stuff like this visible, once it's set, it's not going to need watching or adjustment.

I like the stealth look of it hidden like that, plus the theft part really bothers me. I know from their signatures that some others on the list have it installed, but I've only seen it just stuck on the dash. ANy other alternatives/thoughts?

I saw one mounted off the top, ie by domelight. Not going to be real noticeable for theft but I think It would annoy me over time. You could always mount it in the glovebox and when you need it-open it up...just a thought..

Mine is mounted below my radio. After having it there I would not want it hidden. I love the peak hold feature and to be able to see the max RPM and boost is a real plus to me.

I like the boost hold features being in plain sight too. I've got white face gauges on the cluster, and matching autometer boost and a/f gauges below the stereo now, so placing the AVC-r in that spot would break the "white face" flow a bit. I just wanted to make the install look as clean as possible, while not having to reach to the passenger side (glove box) to adjust it. I'm pretty sure this is where I want it, but I just wanted to see how others have fixed it in this location.

Point taken, but the Apexi actually has a number of functions that may be worth viewing at times. Beside, who doesn't sneak the boost up a bit when a 911 turbo pulls up along side?

I like it close to my field of view (up on the dash) because it is very useful for monitoring peak and current boost whilst still looking forwards.

I also purchased and utilise a stealth device to ensure that my AVCR doesn't attract unwarranted attention. Works great too.

So OZ951, what is the stealth device?

Sometimes the simple things work pretty damn well.

Nothing more innocuous than a cap on a dash.

I knew that was coming! I remember having a discussion about that very thing with Wayne. BTW, are you going to be at the Club Race? It will be my last function before moving North. I am working feverishly to finish the 951, got a lot done tonight, might drive it there.

Very nice OZ951. With reference to my first post, does anyone know of a source for 93-95 rx7 parts? I'd like to get my hands on one of those pockets with the door.

The Club Race is the day before I leave the US for home but I may well be there since a friend of mine will be racing. I helped him build his 911 SC engine yesterday (for the race) so I'd like to see how it/he goes. I won't have my 951 up there though, it will be on a boat within a week or so. Sorry about the OT Mike.
