Engine brace

Engine brace
Had anyone used an engine brace when the torque tube and bellhousing has been removed. I've seen most people the have done this, to do oil pan, the engine has still been attached to the torque tube which would give it a little more stability as far as keeping it kind of where it's supposed to be. It seems it would be easier to work on oil pan and other gaskets with bellhousing and flywheel removed.

I stuck a jack stand under the back of the block when I had the tube/BH out for a while. You can thread a long bolt into a hole in the block somewhere and let that rest on the stand to keep it out of the way.
All it needs to do is provide some balance to the engine, almost all of the weight will still be on the mounts.

Engine brace complete. Already had the wood so only cost was the turnbuckles and chain, about $25. My only concern is how wobbly the engine will be only being supported by the two hooks without being attached to the torque tube. With everything removed I would think it only weighs about 250#
