Where is the idle adjustment screw?
My 951 is currently idling at about 1200 rpms once it is warmed up. I don't recall the idle being "that" high before I installed my test pipe. Is it possible that due to the reduced backpressure, the idle speed would increase?
I tried searching all over for idle adjustment and I found quite a few good threads but I still don't know for sure where the actual idle adjustment screw is on the throttle body.
I took a picture so if anyone would help me out I'd really appreciate it. I'd like to start doing more work on my own car.
Thanks for the help!

It is where that blob of chewing gum is on top of the throttle body.People put stuff like that on there to keep them from backing out. I believe there is a prod. for adj. that. I don't think you can just "turn" it to get the correct curb idle.

Thanks jdog that's where I thought it was but I wanted to be sure. I am going to follow the procedure to adjust the idle on Clark's Garage web page. I will jumper the "B" and "C" ports on the diagnostic plug in order to defeat the idle stabilizer. Then I'll check/adjust the idle.
Is there something I'm missing?

Ok, so I set the idle at about 900 rpm after the car was all warmed up. It seemed like even with that black tar-like stuff on it the screw was waaaaay out. I think I had to turn it IN about 3-5 complete turns to get it about right. However, it may have kept it from backing all the way out and dropping out.
Do you know where I can find that stuff? Is it as easy to find as going to Pep Boys, Autozone, etc., etc.?

Drop me a line and I can supply you with all the .jpg picture showing how do this correctly.
1) Get the correct screw and O ring. The black stuff isn't correct.
2) Disable the DME idle control to set the base idle RPM.
3) Set Idle to 840 +/- 40 RPM.

hey guys,
do you know what the idle is supposed to be on these cars one they are warm, on lets say a normal summer day? mine idles at about 1000-1100, and the screw is all the way in. mine came with some silicone on top of the screw to make sure it didnt back its way out too.
