Default Weird SUNROOF Problem

I just got the inserts I was missing to fix my sunroof, thanks Sid, and now am faced with yet another problem.

The sunroof is fully operational, it goes up, and it goes down.
But, whenever I lock my car doors, either with the key, or with the central locking button, the sunroof will go up all the way.

Also, when I turn the car on, and drive a couple feet, the sunroof will also go up.

I tried disconnecting the sunroof switch in the center counsole, but the sunroof still goes up when I lock the doors.

Any help?

I had exactly this problem this week, turned out to be microswitch no 2. Pull both the wires off of it, if this fixes the problem then it is wired the wrong way round!!

What do those wires power? When I removed my center storage box thing under the radio, I noticed those wires, labled as "2" where just sitting there, unconnected. What's it for?

on my car microswitch 2 tells the sunroof when it is at the fully lowered position (locked) but i do have the early sunroof setup. Although i think the later microswitch 2 does the same. Microswitch 2 needs to be wired so that when the switch is not depressed it is wired open circuit.

i also have a sunroof problem, but i dont know if you guys have come across anything like this:

when i use the sunroof button and the actual roof is on, it will close no problem. then, when i remove the sunroof, and use the button to retract the sunroof levers so they are no longer visible, they refuse to go back up up so i can replace the sunroof! so i drive around with the black levers sticking out of my roof...is this normal? any suggestions to what could actually be the problem?

Djazzy your supposed to retract the arms all the way down first before you take the sunroof off.

Um... how do you take the sunroof off with the arms all the way DOWN? you're problem might be that you have to press on the microswitch up on top, in front center of the sunroof. when you want to raise the arms, just press on that and raise. If you aren't clear, I'll take a photo for you.

Phot #3. See how there is that peice that sticks out from the sunroof. And under it there is a peice that is pressed down by the sunroof. well, when the sunroof is in place, that peice connected to the sunroof puts pressure on this plastic peice under it, thus activating a micro-switch. The sunroof will not move if this microswitch isnt pushed on. So when you have the roof of, that peice is of too. what you need to do is take your thumb, or index finger, your choice, and press on it at the same time as you press the sunroof button. Its a two hand job, so it might get a bit tedious anyway, I'm almost sure this is your problem, which isn't a problem at all. Test it out and tell me how it goes!
