Question Cat-back exhaust decisions...

Hi all,

I'm looking to get a cat-back exhaust to replace my stock one which is rusty and the tip is cracked. I currently have a fabspeed down-pipe and cat bypass pipe. I have been looking at the SFR cat-back, however, I came across one made by broadfoot racing for $200 less. So, I had to ask myself, why spend $200 more for the name. They are probably identical in performance. Does anyone have any experience with the broadfoot cat-back? Any positive/negative feedback on it would very helpful!

Thanks!

The Broadfoot one looks really nicely made - never seen one in person or heard it, but have never heard bad about it.

Default Cat Back

They have been selling on Ebay for around $400.00 and they look very nice from the pictures. Full stainless with TIG welds and CNC hangers. The Sebring mufflers are susposed to be really good also.

Let us know if you get one, would like to know how it sounds and performs.

I've never hear anything bad about the Broadfoot; I can say from personal experience that my SFR is wonderful...

Sorry, no experience with Broadfoot.

I have a SFR cat-back and love it. I know there are lots of other Rennlisters who have had positive experiences with SFR; that's why I went with them.

I have a 3 inch test pipe and catback; it is definitely louder than stock, particularly at WOT...However, as my car is just fer fun rather than my daily driver, I like it that way...Sounds RACEY not RICEY...Was recently complimented by a 930 owner about "how great your car sounds"...

2.5 testpipe + 3" catback - Its a fairly loud deep tone. I think it sounds awesome..

I have an eBay Broadfoot 3" catback with a Bursch 2.5" testpipe. The fit is perfect, the finish is top notch, and the sound is very aggressive. Not ricey, but not like a 5.0 Mustang on Flowmasters either. Significantly louder than stock with the cat.

Lou, is that a street car? it need to do something when my tailpipe falls off, but al broadfoot kinda advertises the things as a track exhaust, are there other muffler options?

I went with Tim's pipe. The hangers on the Broadfoot pipe didn't look near as substantial as Tim's.

Yeah, Tim's hangers are nice and beefy. Welding is top notch too. Here's a pic of mine before I installed it.

It always amazes me how much you guys have to pay for exhaust work. I got my local muffler shop to make a custom 3" "cat" back system. Mandrel bent and it cost $90USD. It was steel and was painted VHT black. Though there is so much heat in turbo cars rust should not be a problem for a while.
