Default Some Weird Pushing under the middle of my car!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here's the situation:

I accelerate in any gear, and once I pass about 4k RPMS, I feel something under the middle of the car pushing, but it feels like its slipping. It's around the clutch. I'm thinking slipping clutch, but what are the symptoms? What other things would be evident if it where a slipping clutch.

If the cluth is slipping, your RPM's will rise and your speedo will not.

Generally your clutch will start slipping in 5th gear first and become progressively worse. Then it will affect the lower gears.

Not really certain what you mean by Pushing.

Excuse my lack of details.

When I mean pushing, I mean that I can feel some weird force under the bottom middle of my car.

What do you mean by this? will the rpms at say, 80mph, gradually have to increase to maintain speed the same as the clutch fails.

Sami - yeah man, that was pretty funny.

Dude - is English your first language? If you FEEL pushing, then your car is welded together from two clips and about to break. Be careful.

Default The force

Cyrus,

Check the bushing that sits between the top of the transmission and the chassis. I think Kokeln makes a solid bushing to cure that weird rubbery feeling you get when you are on and off the gas.

With the car in 5th gear the RPM's will be around 3000 @ 80mph or at least they are in a Turbo. If you clutch is worn out then as you apply throttle, the RPMS will rise but your speed will not. So, the tach may rise to 3500 RMP's but your speed may not have increased.

Hope that clears it up.

A rising tach and that smell.... like the smell of hot brake pads on a big truck that just did a fast stop.

lol, yeah, english is my first language. I just suck at describing what the car is going through in words. Is there anyone in Socal that wants to come down, drive the car, and tell me what you think is wrong?
