Default Largest Oil Restrictor

Hey Guys-
What size oil restrictors in your turbos are you running? I'm looking for the largest size hole that doesn't produce smoke...

Good point. When do you need to run a restrictor?

I'm running a restrictor with a 3/32 hole . Pretty big as far as restrictors go. Many guys are running 60 thou. No smoke on my car.

So far we have:
.094 3/32
.062 1/16
.050 1/20

Anyone else?

3/32 Is pretty big for a restrictor, is it not? Jeremy what type of turbo do you have? What oil? Did you try running the turbo without a restrictor first, or did you just put in the 3/32 right away?

Thanks,

Thanks Chris! Nicely related to my thread below! I think I am going to run no restrictor at first (no water cooling and loving it! Lost a few kg there) then will try a restrictor if I get smoke...

NZ-
Your post reminded me of my (this) earlier one.
TEC told me I need not run a restrictor...smoke everywhere. But then again, they are the reason I am spending $3000 on a new engine...

My turbo will be in the car in a week. Just waiting on gaskets now. Cant wait to add 60-1 to my sig! Hopefully we have a scientific result soon... I am a bit out of my depth here.

Thanks,
To4E, 15/50 Synthetic. It smoked without it so I added it later.

0.050" over here also. Mine is a non ball bearing turbo. No smoke reported yet.
