Thanks for your heads up Michael!

2 incredible cars developed by really talented People.

I have seen Gustafs car in action here in Sweden and I tell you it is really something. I think with the improvements they made during winter and with ex F1 test driver Alex Danielsson behind the wheel RP 968 will have a real challenge!
Best is that Porsche transaxle community now have 2 cars fit to win WTAC 2019 which if you think of it is minblowing!

Kör hårt Gustav💪🇸🇪

Pic here from a few years ago.

There's also a 944 turbo that Buchanan Automotive are helping with who are running in Clubsprint class.
A whole lot less modified. Still street legal cars. Unfortunately nobody representing Open class this year. d

Amazing cars! Any more pics of either or both would be great. When does the WTAC event take place?

BIG Congratulations to former and still undisputed champion of WTAC Rod! 💪

Fantastic result and I bet that Nico Hulkenbergs lap record with the A1GP car will soon be boken at only some 13 hundreds of a second quicker!!!

To bad Gustaf and his crew had misfire issues with their 968 but still got 4th👍🇸🇪

Rod in his RP968 won for the 2nd time in a row. They lowered their own record and just missed out on beating the official lap record set by Nico Hulkenberg in an A1 GP car some years back.
Mighty effort. Certainly if they had have been testing prior to the event they possibly could have got into the 1:17's. Point of context is that say a 992 Cup car would do it in around 1:29 perhaps!
Gives you some clue just how fast Rod's car is.

Gustaf and his team made a mighty effort too. Coming all the way from Sweden and having very little or in the case of the lead driver Alx, no prior experience on this track, plus very few laps due to various problems, they achieved highly creditable times under the circumstances.

These guys can fill in the details should they pop into this thread. Super results for both teams.

The 944 n/a that has a 3lt turbo motor in it and was prepared by Buchanan Automotive for a few weeks leading up to the event also did a good job in the entry level Club sprint class.
Hopefully we might see Sean himself at this event next year!

Yes my car is quick, we have got the engine working pretty well now, I guess about 1150 at the crank, still a few traction issues preventing us from getting couple of hundred(!) out of it, but it was still running at the end of the event, which is a first for us. Gustaf’s car was quick, the time was around what I expected but not when it was really about the only lap it ran in pro.

World Time Attack Challenge 2019 is over!

Revline Racing Team Sweden ended up 4th in Pro Class and 5th in Pro Am. I am super proud of the whole team and the car!

The best lap time of the weekend was 1:25.6 which Alx set already in the first session Friday morning. This was the 2nd hot lap ever on new tires for both Alx and the car at Sydney Motorsports Park. Running medium boost slightly above 800 hp. We continued to fine tune the car, studied data and videos. Saturday morning we came back full of confidence to shave of a fair bit of lap time! We did 260 km/h on the main straight on medium boost and now it was time to turn it up to close to 1000 hp and Alx and the car was prepared to take Turn 1 flat out. Unfortunately the engine misfired in my first Pro Am session and I ran into traffic at 2 unfortunate places during my hot lap. Still a 1.32 lap running on 3 cylinders below 5000 rpm under these conditions showed that we had the potential to place us very high up in the Pro AM class.

We decided to change the head gasket in the pit and the team put in a mega effort and I think we got it done in about 2.5 hours effectively. Alx went out to do a system check in his afternoon session and did a short burst with close to 1000 hp that showed the engine was now

I went out in the last Pro Am session - my very last chance to do a proper lap time. Engine ran great but the car was sliding all over the place into Turn 2. I really had to hustle the car the whole lap and I pushed like crazy but couldn't understand where the grip had gone. Then out on the main straight again the engine died and after inspection we realized the engine block had cracked massively. Game over. I guess we found out where the unknown territory of boost would take us!

We didn't get the ultimate lap time out of the car and I didn't get a full proper lap in but that's motorsport. We came here from the other side of the world, running the special Yokohama tire we've never seen before and with Alx never driven on the track. To be able to do a 1.25.6 in the first WTAC session is to my understanding the best lap time any new team have done at WTAC ever and I couldn't be more proud over that fact.
I am not a trained mechanic or engineer in any way and started building this car in a 25 square meter garage 7 years ago on my spare time and its unbelievable to be here today, as a WTAC veteran with a result to be proud over. It was also the first time this team of 7 great guys were working together. I don't think anyone would have thought that when they saw 14 hands working to change the head gasket during the pit walk. I'm just so thankful for the whole team.

We also got amazing support locally from so many people and an extra thanks to Haltech and Ian Baker and the whole WTAC crew!

Tonight we celebrate!
