3.0L 16v Silver rose street/DE build
I'm getting close to driving the old car again after a big restoration and modification. The project started with a leaky stock engine with high miles that was going to come out for a re-seal and ended up with a 3.0L 16v engine, new internals, and every stupid expensive part under the sun to make it go together. Right now it's driving, but I'm having a little trouble with sync losses from the crank sensor above 4500RPM, so that is my next project. It runs on MS3X megasquirt stand alone and I rewired it with the MS wiring harness. I'm not super happy with the way the wires look because I had to redo a few things in situ and my nice heatshrink job had to be adjusted a few times. Here are some pictures as it sits today after a little blast on some country roads dialing in the tune and troubleshooting. If you guys have questions, fire away and I'll try to answer if I can remember how I did something!

Haha yeah I've been chipping away on this car for over a decade. Going "big" with everything was a challenge I hadn't anticipated, nor was part of the original plan. I got peer pressured into a giant turbo (precision 6062) and nothing after that fit!
I originally planned on trying to use MS3X to use the factory triggers, but changed direction to use a front mount hall sensor. I forgot to reset some of the settings I had set for a VR sensor (the pots on the board and the noise filtering) when I switched to the hall sensor. I'm hoping that clears it up, but if not I will try a DIYautotune sensor that has a better track record.

It's a stage 2 321SS from SFR that included the crossover and terminated with a T4 flange at the turbo.
Thanks! The wheels are from a few years ago when tire rack contracted out some forged wheels to Enkei I suspect, as the wheels are manufactured in Japan. They are called TR motorsports F2. They are a forged 18X10 all around.

That’s one serious reseal job. I’ve yet to have any reseal job I’ve done make my engine turn into a 3.0L 16v turbo. What kinda seals did you use? Did you get them from “Jack the Bean Stalk”? Do you have any more of those seals? Super nice!

I replaced the littelfuse/hamlin sensor with a cherry/ZF one from DIYautotune.com and no more sync losses. I was able to get out and do some low boost tuning to get a decent base map dialed in. There's still a ton of work to do on the warm-up and higher boost levels. I ran into an overheating condition and took my radiator for cleaning and rerouted/simplified some more lines to delete the old throttle heater lines and that seems to have cleared up that issue. At least I can get it out for a drive every once and a while now though and Chrenan and I went for the first mini cars and coffee last night.
