KLR vacuum line
Searched for a while and then decided to just post...
Where does the KLR hard vacuum line get routed from?
I had the car smogged about a year ago and all was good. Took things apart to install the Vitesse VMAF+ and now suspect I have a vacuum leak. I have a hunch the leak may have reared it's head from moving stuff around in the footwell...

That line is attached to the KLR box and then routed through the firewall in the same rubber boot as the engine harness and from there goes straight to the intake.

You mean an aftermarket boost gauge? The factory 951 boost gauge does not have a vacuum line running to it. The KLR has a pressure sensor inside, and sends an electronic signal the factory boost gauge to make it work.

Mine Y'd there I had always assumed it went to the dash. Cannot check it now as it is long gone.

Hmmm, so the hard line is supposed to go from the KLR thru the firewall to a banjo on the intake? Mine is not run this way... Any pictures showing this on the intake side? Is it run the same way thru all model years?

It may have changed a weee bit when they added two banjo's to the intake, but pretty much the same. Where does yours go??

I need to investigate where it goes. I'm running one of Laust's manifolds, but even before had only silicone hose from the two banjos on the manifold with a few T's. The plot thickens... Really, really hoping it's something simple like this.

I've often thought about replacing the hard plastic line with a run of silicone.
Figure after 30 years the hard line is brittle.
Any idea why the OEM line is hard plastic?
