Can someone please tell me if the factory digital clock (once set) should stay on all the time regardless if the ignition is on or off, or should it only come on when the ignition is on? Thanks for any assistance.

Ok so clock is on then becomes illuminated when car starts and then light dims when exterior lights are turned on?
