You have a PM. I have the block and new 16V 944S pistons.

Great number Duke, we ran a mid block 3.1 for 3 years with a efr 9180 before we changed to the billet block, but no dyno sheets...

Duke has a post on here about his head gaskets if you search. These are pics he posted a while ago if you search his user name. I believe this link is the gasket when I searched Google.

I saved this info a while ago for reference in future.

Thanks Grushy,
Whats the difference or advantage over the Cometic MLS?
I was told that changing head studs causes HG's to be crushed as the rate of expansion with the factory head and factory block are matched as well as the factory studs. When changed the, for example using ARP, the studs cause the gasket to be crushed. Not sure if this is true but if it is an issue I wonder if this gasket would be able to compensate and not malfunction. I hope Duke shares his experience as well as others.

This Gasket warrants some looking into... I have had Cometic Gaskets in the past and Have one on my car now, I finally changed the way I Torque it... Running Raceware studs, I went to 100 FT Lbs as opposed to what they call for (60 or 65 ft lbs), Thought that was WAY to low for a boosted car... I can tell you that it held up on the track when I screwed up the boost controller and I was boosting the car to 20Lbs.... no issues...

I have raceware studs on my 3L. Did you have issues with 65 ft/lbs torque?
Not nervous to pull the studs out at 100?

Did you go ...65 then to 100 when you torqued the head down? Curious about your method. I know Lindsey racing like max torque 65 and feel the stock studs stretch correctly with the block.
Duke, sorry to get off topic here. If you like I can start a new thread.

They way I thought about it was that a 350 Chevy with 8.5 :1 is like 75Ft Lbs... The spec that I had for the Raceware just seemed Ridiculous Low for a boosted car Esp At 1 to 1.2 Bar over atmosphere.. I Did blow a head gasket when I was at 65 Ft lbs.. I Re-Tuned the car on the dyno (That helped ALLOT) and then when I put the HG back on I Did the 95-100 Ft lbs.. The Block took it... and that was 2 years ago and Days and Days now of Track Time at Redline most of the time. When I put my Halo Seat in I had to Re-Do the cage and had to remove the dash, In doing so I messed up the boost controller setting.. and when I hit the track the car was a Rocket until it hit its over boost protection which I found out was about 23 PSI over Atmosphere... Turned the boost back to 14.5 and Never missed a beat.. Ran like a champ... I do have Wet sleeves in the engine as well but don't think that would make any difference …
The Stock studs are Stretch (Degree) the next time I assemble one I am going to use a torque wrench and see what the Torque angle equates to in Ft Lbs.. I bet its up there!
Don't mean to Hi-jack a thread but I wanted to answer your question..
I have No Idea how one of these engines will hold together at over 900 HP... This is quite an accomplishment...
Im also Running Pump Gas.. Im at 330 at the wheels at 14.5 …. I could make 400 EZ But considering Im going through 80 gallons of Fuel in a Day at the track (open track) I don't want to buy Barrels and Barrels of VP 110...
