Default Thank You Evergreen Turbo!

Wanted to say a big thank you to Charlie Brown at Evergreen Turbo!

I drove in the PCA club race at Heartland Park with his Billet Turbo. The car was faster than it has ever been. Throttle response was amazing.

My 'black ****' boost controller fought me most of the weekend, it was stuck at 12psi. At 12psi I had a little more motor than the GTB1 Caymans. They should be about the same weight as I was and make over 300 horsepower. Here's some video from one of the Caymans. I am the number 71 burgundy 944 turbo. If you watch the start, you can see the comparison without corner exit speed playing a factor.

A few laps into the last race the boost **** cooperated and I turned it up to 17psi. I did my best lap time ever by a wide margin. It was a total blast!

There's a lot more to wring out of the car with more practice and better tires.

The new turbo was awesome

Thanks for sharing. I have been running the "prototype" of this turbo for about a year and a half and it is amazing. Are you running the #6 or #8 hot side? I have a ported #6 and the boost/throttle response are incredible, but I may go to a #8 for better flow at the top end at the track. I finally went to my first track event with this turbo yesterday (Buttonwillow), but kept the boost down to 0.75 bar (11 PSI) due to damp/wet track and out of respect for the tired engine. The newfound torque meant great response out of tight turns, but I had to manage the throttle to keep the tail from stepping out! It was great fun.

Also, you should incorporate electronic boost control if your class rules allow it. It will make the boost response event better by completely blocking the signal to the wastegate until a preset boost level. This does make the boost hit harder, however, so it could cause traction issues in certain situations .

I am running a #8 hot side.
I have been racing in PCA's GT-3 class. Not a lot of restrictions. It has to burn gas and have a Porsche engine block. An EBC would be a nice improvement.
