Default So problem solved right?

So I have an odd problem. I replaced the odometer gear in my 944 turbo and it worked for a week then stopped working again. I took out the dashboard and looked at it again but found nothing broken. The gears were all there and were fine. Any solutions?

It could be that the odometer wheels are separating on the shaft. If they slide over a little bit, they disengage from each other and stop turning. They have to be intermeshed for the odometer to work properly. IIRC, you can either shim the end of the shaft with a small washer, or squeeze the odo wheels together and put a drop of superglue at the edge of the stack.

Another things that it could could be is that the stepper motor is intermittent or dead. But, this is much less likely.
